I tasted sweet temptation,
Aphrodite’s burning kiss,
Oh, what led me to this perversion?
Where did I fall amiss?
The sweetness on my tongue is haunting,
Can still feel the smoothest of skins,
Yet my thoughts are poisonous,
They lead me to your favourite things.
I thought of myself as a flower,
Happy and yellow and stray,
You switched all my colours,
Been red ever since that day.
Now all I do is wait for you
Sit on a field, in a maze,
The sun is coming down on me.
While I rot slowly away.

To all the loves I never had,
I gifted letters in my sleep,
And dreamed of sweet peonies and pastries
And how we would make beautiful babies.
I thought of love and lust and greed,
And how your beauty makes me weep.
I adored it all the same.
At least in my head, I did.
That’s where it’s safe.
