Glimpses

Story

Go on, you wanted to explain why killing is an option for you and I die waiting.

You’re bleeding, did I…?

Suddenly caring, huh? No, that’s yours, I’m fine, but we should do something about that wound on your wing.

None of your business. I’ve seen your kind scatter in the mere shadow of my wings.

And yet, here I am, speaking to you. Perhaps we are stronger than you think. Your lack of personality is almost as bad as that of your self-reflection.

Don’t pretend you know me.

At least I know what I see.

I hate you.

Why? I’m lovely. Besides, you do realize, that, unlike me, you’re injured and also in bad condition, so the only reason why this works in your favor, is me being kinda strangely fascinated by you. Also, you might mind that, a few seconds ago, I was the one rescuing you, remember?

Yeah… but why would you?!

May I touch you now without getting my arms ripped off?

Just that we get one thing clear right from the beginning: despite you saving me, I’m the hero, making you the villain.

Of course, I am? I mean, it is still your story. That’s what I really like about mine. It needs no black and white thinking to be one of a kind.

Don’t overthink it.

Do you always reduce others to what you think you see at first glance and rush to conclusions about that or just often?

Tell me, do you ever dream of flying above these cursed waters?

Only when the weight of the ocean becomes too much to bear. Do you dream of sinking?

Sinking? No. My kind is meant to soar, not drown.

Sure thing. Guess that makes you one of us now. Thanks for the silly little chitchat.

You’re exclusive to that.

Great, can we get on with our lives now? At least we could move our date to cozier climes for all I care.

As… if.

Or you can just pass out on me. Again. Sure. Works for me. I’m flexible.
