Lola

Story

Lola’s feeling as free as ever tonight.

Thought she’d come on down to the rosemary fair.

With her pretty face, shoes unlaced,

She didn’t bother even brushing her hair.

Lola’s in a predicament.

Losing friends “Don’t know where they went”,

Thought she’d end up with them ‘til the end,

Now she’s brokenhearted on the pavement.

Acting dull, as if she didn’t know,

It’s tiring trying to be someone else.

And her only flaw,

According to her,

Is she’s “too different” to fit in a crowd.

Yet she says

“Bad things are all in your head.

Just be glad for all that you have.”

And she’s told me

One day I’ll be lonely,

‘Cause all of my time

Was always spent inside.

I’m so tired of living for Lola.

She said I’m too boring,

Now I’ve changed my persona

For her.

Why had I bothered?

She’s some hipster’s daughter.

Now I won’t waste any more of my time,

It took me a while to finally realize,

She’s just like me, only under a guise,

And I’m so tired of wasting my life…

…On Lola.
