Story
London

Three months later, Simon and his classmates are there almost every day, for a rehearsal for “Hamlet”, one of the famous plays written by William Shakespeare. Simon got the role of The Ghost, Tobie the role of Hamlet and Sabrina is the Queen. The play should be performed in spring where all students show something about their subject. This ist the first challenge for all newcomers at the LDI and a useful possibility for professionals to look at and to know all of them. “Hello students, welcome to our new lesson for the “Hamlet” play. Today we will try to perform a couple of scenes and dramatic talking.” This is Mr Wilson, a medium long red-haired man, tall and slim with many freckles on his face. “So we will start with Act 1, scene 5, Simon and Tobie. Let’s start:”
HAMLET (Tobie): Whither wilt thou lead me? Speak. I’ll go no
further.
GHOST (Simon): Mark me.

“Very good, but Simon, be a bit cooler and don’t smile. Tobie be more anxious, o.k.”

HAMLET (Tobie): I will.
GHOST (Simon): 5 My hour is almost come, When I to sulf’rous and tormenting flames
Must render up myself.
HAMLET (Tobie): Alas, poor ghost!
GHOST (Simon): Pity me not, but lend thy serious hearing
10 To what I shall unfold.
HAMLET (Tobie): Speak. I am bound to hear.
GHOST (Simon): So art thou to revenge, when thou shalt hear.

“Applause, this was very good, thank you two. Simon and Tobie, we all could see you exercise, and I would know how your feeling was. What was good and what was bad?” Simon says: “It was not really easy because these lines are 500 years old and Shakespeare uses many hard words, but I find the second start was better than the first.” “Thank you, Simon, Tobie?” “Simon had said all, but it was so interesting to perform Shakespeare, when I had seen marvellous actors where perform a Shakespeare played like the “Globe Theatre” it looks really easy but when you try itself it is harder than you thought.” “Thank You, Tobie.” “So students, the last one is Act 3, Scene 4 with Tobie as Hamlet and Sabrina as the Queen, let’s start:”

QUEEN (Sabrina): To whom do you speak this?
HAMLET (Tobie): 150Do you see nothing there?
QUEEN (Sabrina): Nothing at all; yet all that is I see.
HAMLET (Tobie): Nor did you nothing hear?
QUEEN (Sabrina): No, nothing but ourselves.

“So you both, I find this scene is not really easy, and you must learn to perform with more courage, especially you, Sabrina, you are the Queen! You be the boss, be stronger and have more courage. But you both said all the lines clear and loud. Thank you two!”

The bells are ringing, and Mr Wilson takes his old leather backpack and his cap with the England National Football Team print and leaves the room. All the students follow him, because the next lesson is movement already.
