I was born in 2001 in Chernihiv, a city north of Kiev near the Russian border. Before the war I was a photographer, but when the attacks on Ukraine began on February 24, I documented on TikTok @valerisssh and Instagram the harrowing events that war brings with pictures of brutal devastation and ironic comments – I like black humour, it helps to get through these absurd times.
My stories are about my friends, my parents, everything that war means every single day. It is important that everyone knows: This war is absurd, surreal, and death is happening right now and no one can change it.
