Story

„I expected a smart comment from you,“ the man says calmly as he looks up at me, and he smirks: „I haven’t blown up anything, Chaos. I just made a bet and lost money, like always.“

I burst into laughter as I took a seat next to him and watched the mortals battle the same fights as always feeding the entity that was the God of war, himself. „You gamble too much,“ „What was it this time?“ I asked. The man grumbled and looked down, his long hair falling on his face. For the first time, he was serious, which was weird knowing him as a clown in the group, next to me, of course.

„Come on, cheer up and tell me,“ I shook him by his shoulders. „I’ll give you anything, come on!!“ I begged and started pointing out things: „Want my heart?“ I took my heart out of my chest and gasped for a second. It bled all over my hand and was still betting, somehow. He snickered and blushed, only spitting out a: „Gross, Chaos!“ I put it back, relieved and hyperventilated for a second before I continued to pester him. „Maybe my eyes?“ „Yes?“ I asked insistingly, probably being annoying in the process, but it was worth it. He shook his head and smiled at me: „I have plenty.“ Disappointing, but I knew one thing he couldn’t resist: „What about money?“ I wiggled my many eyebrows at him, as he snorted and laughed at me. What a jerk. I turned to him and gave him the best look of annoyance I could. As he stopped laughing, he just looked at me and stated: „You have no money yourself, idiot.“ Ouch, twice today, I looked down, knowing that he was right. I never really cared for human money. It’s useless to me, but for the humanoid gods, for some reason they are all obsessed with it.

„I lost a few thousand on a bet with the Goddess of strategy. I was confident this time, but my own luck turned on me again, or maybe she cheated, but it’s probably just my luck,“ he explained: „It wasn’t even a strategy bet, it was who would be lost in the battle first, and here I am lost.“ This guy, sometimes I feel like everyone else is crazy and im the only sane one, but I couldn’t help but laugh and pity him. Then I got a great idea. I flew up and grabbed him, gods he was heavy. He protested a bit but then gave up and grumbled a bit, but I also heard him laugh at me. We looked around to find our teammates. Maybe his bet-mate had actually lost herself and maybe for once he would win, I hoped at least. If anything, this man needs a break and I need to focus on not dropping him to death, again.
