One time there was a little girl called Lilly who always loved writing stories, no matter how dramatic the story was and always dreamed about being an author, even though her family nor her friends ever supported the idea, because although lilly loved writing stories, she’d sometimes get stressed when the story didn’t sound right and would often take her anger out on her parents, Ken and Jess, who’d always tried to calm her down by trying to talk to her but nothing ever worked.
So one day, after an exhausting day at school, Ken decided to take her computer away to make sure she didn’t write any stories that would usually make her stressed, but as soon as Lilly got into her room she immediately noticed that her computer was nowhere to be seen and stormed over to her parents demanding where it is: „where’s my computer!“ muttered Lilly firmly as Ken stood up towering over Lily with a stern look on his face: „were taking away your computer, sweetheart you’re always stressed,“ he whispered trying to calm her down.
After hearing that Lily had a complete meltdown and started doing crazy stuff like throwing cushions, screaming and much more, when finally, Jess took control of the situation by quickly grabbing her wrists firmly but gently as she calmly speaks: „Sweetheart try taking some deep breathes for me,“ she whispers as she started taking slow deep breaths motioning Lily to do the same.
After some time, Lily reluctantly started to do the same and about 5 minutes later she eventually calmed down: „Well done sweetie!“ Jess whispered proudly, pulling her into a gentle embrace. As Jess pulled away slightly from the hug, Ken came and keeled down beside Lily: „Listen, I’ll give you your computer back, but you have to promise me you’ll take 5 minutes to breathe if you ever get stressed, OK?“ he muttered to her. Lily’s eyes lit up as she ran over to the couch where her computer was.
When she got there, she carefully picked up the computer with gentle hands and went into the room, already typing her story out. Out of nowhere, she suddenly felt a strange anger building up inside her. She didn’t know why but remembered what her dad said and started taking deep breathes, making sure to turn away from the computer and to not get distracted.
Lily kept on doing the breathing techniques her mum showed her (which, surprisingly, worked most of the time) for months, until finally the anger she felt in her body eventually stopped, so when Lily finally realized it was gone, she couldn’t help but make a relieved sigh and kept on doing her stories but this time, in peace and as time went on Lily was the thing she always dreamed about being. An author and sold her stories/books all around the world.
