Hallway Crush

Story

Funny how love is described as so complex,

As something hard to get, something so far away,

Yet I seem to feel it every single time I walk down the hallway.

A single glance, as short and quick as it may be,

Just your eyes meeting mine for a fraction of time,

And the entire universe seems to stop for mine.

My time, keeping your eyes on mine for longer,

Only a bit, that’s all I ask,

Because seeing you isn’t such a simple task.

I never talked to you, never got to know you

The only time we were ever close was in class,

A week, seven days, a time that went by way too fast.

Dear hallway crush, I know your name,

Know your last one and my friends do as well,

Whenever they see you, they are eager to tell.

I do not love, nor do I crush,

But what can I say, when it comes to you,

I break all my rules, my heart in a rush.

Your arrogance is striking,

Your glance and smirk make me blush,

See you tomorrow, hallway crush.
