Have you seen those motivational quotes that say: “Follow your dreams, get out of your comfort zone, be crazy, be a dreamer, be yourself,” blah blah blah…? Well, I did all that and much more.
I was a successful manager, living in a shiny apartment with my cat. I’d just bought a brand-new car with the stereo I always wanted. Finally, I was there- “the comfort zone”-Then I went on a holiday with my friends.
I felt something there, something I couldn’t shake off when I came back. I quit my job, wrote for a year, got arrested by the authorities, spent a few days in jail, and not long after, left home for good.
I embarked on a venturesome journey all the way to the UK, and four years later, I’m still stumbling along.
If you ask if it was worth it, I’d say: Well, it wasn’t really a decision because I believe art is a loud way of feeling. And can you decide not to feel?
