Andreia Luis is a Biomedical Scientist and Business Development Manager in the BioTech and HealthTech field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a master’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. She also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Signal Transduction from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. In 2022, she joined a startup recycling human placenta tissue into new innovative biomaterials as an alternative to animal-derived materials. She was awarded multiple awards including the “New Investigator Award”, in 2017 by the European Shock Society and in 2019 by the International Federation of Shock Societies. In 2023, she was nominated for Lush Prize, the world’s highest funding award for the end of animal testing. Currently, she is supporting the Top Female Founders Summer School, a HealthTech course organized by EIT Health.
