Lia Winchester is a writer, storyteller, and lifelong collector of moments that refuse to be forgotten. She grew up finding refuge in books, stories, and imaginary worlds, often discovering that fictional characters were easier to understand than real people. What began as a love for reading eventually became a love for writing; first in private notebooks, later online, and finally on the page before you. Foster Friend is her exploration of friendship, belonging, grief, and the people who change us long after they leave our lives. Inspired by real experiences, it is a story about connection in a lonely world and the marks we carry from those who once made us feel seen. When she is not writing, Lia can usually be found with a crochet project, a stack of fantasy novels, a cup of tea, and at least one cat nearby.
