MercyRethna VictorRajakumar

Mercy Rethna, born in 1993 in Tiruchirappalli, India, is a software developer and an aspiring author. Growing up in a conservative South Indian family, she was always driven to step beyond her familiar surroundings and discover new worlds.
After completing a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, she pursued a regular IT career. During this time, she discovered Weltwärts, the German volunteering program that offers a year of service in various locations. Seeing it as her chance to pursue her dream, she ultimately succeeded after facing repeated rejections. Inspired by her journey, she decided to write her autobiography to help other aspiring expats and women who are unsure about making the big step out of their comfort zones.
In her free time, she enjoys offering Indian dance workshops, singing in a choir, and more. She lives and works in Dresden, Germany.
