Mfilinge Nyalusi was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. At 14 he discovered his passion for theatre, literature and oral literature, took acting classes, acted in plays and also played a supporting role in a television production.
Mfilinge has a degree in literature from the University of Vienna and is teaching Kiswahili at the Institute of African Studies. He is working on several book projects, writing essays and poetry, as well as short stories and prose.
