Raisul Shuvo was born in Bangladesh and lived for several years in Ukraine, where he witnessed the outbreak of war in February 2022. He fled the country with his beloved cats: Muezza, Baby-Girl, Groot, Wall-e, and Minki; crossing a thousand miles to safety. A lifelong reader of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, and Tagore, he has written poetry since childhood, drawing on personal experience, displacement, and the quiet dignity of ordinary lives.
