I’ve yet to turn off data roaming
but fits are barely risqué
I let the luggage scratch the flooring
until another holiday
I had the shells you found when skinny-dipping
made into choker necklaces today
my eyelids linger long after I sleep in
so I can dream of where I start the day
I muse on how to boost endorphins
brewing a local coffee blend
the kettle echoes of windsurfing
jargon I’d never understand
abiding leisure in the Adriatic
I’m going through an active tennis phase
your team is being thrown a winning party
for oxbridge university boat race
our twenty-somethings are still roaring
unlike the cruise ships in the bay
I’m too withdrawn, but you’re still calling
with a review of Hemingway
there’s not a sun ray left within your hair
chopped off for rowing in the sullen Thames
I’ve heard, it is another function where
you always speak of me in present tense
