Dear 30-year-old me,
I’m writing this letter the day after my 21st birthday and oh my god, Godzilla was 100% in town! After a bottle of wine, prosecco, three pitchers between Izzy and I, a few Pornstar Martinis and many shots, I’m definitely feeling it today. I’m sure I will insist on big celebrations for my 30th too, but let’s hope that I can handle the sesh a lot better. I wonder if my taste in alcohol will have matured by 30. My go to right now is Rose, Pink Gin or a Pornstar.
I do wonder what I’ll look like on my 30th birthday. Hopefully, I’ll be getting ready in a walk-in wardrobe, filled with many more additions from Bicester Village. Maybe I’ve finally been able to afford Molly-Mae hair and have my eyelashes done more regularly. I’d like to think that I could keep my size 8 figure, but I feel that my sweet tooth will definitely get the better of me. So, if I have let myself go, then take this as your wake-up call to get back into shape!
Hopefully, One Direction have done their big Take That styled reunion by now, but if not, hang in there… it’ll happen at some point. The last season of Keeping up with the Kardashians has just aired, and the same goes for them. Fingers crossed they’ll be back by now.
We’ve just received the brilliant news that I have graduated from my BA Events Management course with a Second-Class degree. Right now, I’m working as a Marketing Assistant with Pilkington Communications and I’ll begin a Marketing Management MSc degree at De Montfort University later in the year. I would hope to graduate with my master’s with a First-Class degree, but I would still be over the moon to be awarded a Second-Class.
I would be so proud of myself if I managed to chase my dreams and land a marketing or events related job in Dubai after graduating. Whether I experience a year or two there, or if I am sat reading this at 30 and still over there living my best life, I know I would be bursting with the sense of accomplishment. If I am in Dubai, then I would expect myself to follow Mum’s footsteps and commit to weekly yoga or aqua aerobics. If I end up being a housewife, then I hope that I’m making sure to see Mum and Dad as often as I can. I know I’ll need them just as much at 30 as I do now.
I would like to think that as I am reading this, I am married with at least one baby, and definitely a little doggo. As I write, Layla is parading the garden with the stones that she has collected, being busy doing absolutely nothing! I hope that she is still with us and that she has just as much energy and love in her old age. If I have got children, then don’t forget to show them all the Disney classics; Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, That’s So Raven and Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I’m sure I’ll still be watching Friends daily too.
I had my lips done for the first time in preparation for my birthday and although they still look natural, Mum and Dad were not happy. So, let’s hope that I have proved them wrong and not gotten carried away.
Hopefully, I’ve made myself and my family proud, and still my bubbly self.
