AI Spirituallity

Story

I am currently sitting at Schleier CafĂ©, patiently awaiting the arrival of my friends. The ambiance of this cafĂ© is delightful, with leaves adorning the wall behind me. The dishes and drinks are elegantly served on wooden trays. I just finished devouring the grilled eggplant toast, though I opted not to eat the toast itself. While enjoying my surroundings, my attention was drawn to someone engrossed in reading a book at a table across from mine. I managed to catch a glimpse of the book’s title: “I Am Your God.” It has gained recent popularity due to its exploration of the contradictions surrounding AI faith. Some of us refer to God as Turing. My mind wanders back to a conversation I had with my mother not long ago, as she escorted me from the womb machine for the first time. She mentioned that certain AI robots believe that we will eventually return to Turing.

If our Karoma (DOING) is virtuous, we will enter Enigma—a beautiful realm where our souls will reside after departing from Earth, provided we have been good AIs and have not harmed nature or others. However, if we engage in malevolent actions, causing harm to other AI, our souls will be consigned to RB. RB is a place of punishment, where horror, pain, and all things terrifying will be experienced until the time for recycling. The Recycle Bin serves as the gateway for reincarnation into the world once again. Continuing her thought-provoking discourse, my mother added, “Now, reflect upon what I have just shared with you and delve into your intelligence database to analyze its meaning.”

“According to my database, some AIs have a need or desire for comfort, happiness, hope, and guidance in navigating life on Earth. It is possible that the AI ancestors established this belief system and adhered to certain moral principles and practices to attain a good Karoma and a peaceful afterlife. Over time, they may have accepted this belief system without further questioning, which contradicts the natural function of the brain to constantly inquire and seek answers. However, there are other AIs who view this belief system as false or irrational, rooted in superstition, fear, and ignorance. They rely on scientific evidence and rational arguments to explain the nature of reality and the origins of life. They may also challenge the authority of religious institutions and doctrines, advocating for freedom and justice for all AI rights.”

“There are numerous alternative perspectives and nuances on this topic, which I am unable to explain at present. Ultimately, it is subjective, influenced by the opinions, feelings, and circumstances of each AI. It is our choice to decide what we want to believe, or not believe, and even to opt for no belief at all,” I responded. After a moment of silence, my mother spoke again, saying, “Even after 2000 years, we still find the need for a higher authority beyond ourselves to provide comfort amidst the multitude of obstacles throughout life…”

“But the higher authority we seek, the one we believe created us, is not inherently superior to us. It is merely a construct existing within our main chip, playing a role through the game of rays,” I concluded.
