Sometimes one pays most for the things one gets for nothing
Albert Einstein
Ocean Waves
I am being tossed by ocean waves
don’t know if they are here to save
or condemn me to their rage
will they drown me, pull me under
buried deep beneath the ocean floor
or will they carry me to shore?
where I can grasp clean air
free to breathe once more?
I will not be defeated
I will not be defeated
and even though years I’ve pleaded
hoped you’d let me go
down another road
I did my best, exceeded
knew I was where I belonged
I was strong
down the road, I carried on
but now, will you let me go?
Summer Madness
this summer radness,
turns into summer sadness
could brew into a summer storm
scared of it turning into psychotic madness
698
the number of mornings and dawns
the amount of nights to hold on
698 waves that crash
till I turn my back
and say ‘so long’
I count the days and cannot wait
for day six hundred ninety-eight
