This is a draft from a few months back. I started writing this for fun and since I have one spare chapter left I thought i could put this in.
A man with a staggered expression looking far into the distance. At something that is unknown to any of us. His two hands plastered onto his cheeks trying to keep his own face from falling off, illuminated in the lights of the sunset, standing on a bridge. Behind, two men are looking at the little ship that is floating on the big sea. Oblivious to the pain that the horrified person must carry. A world that looks like it could end in its own spiral. You wonder what it would feel like to stand there next to him and find out what that terrifying thing must be there on the other side. Maybe he is looking at his biggest fear. For some it could be a gallon of poisonous snakes or giant monster spiders and, for some, maybe a reflection of his true dark soul and all his sins next to his unfulfilled desires. Well, I guess we will never know what went on behind the scenes of Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”. You look around, about five people are surrounding the painting. You just went on a thought journey in your head, you wonder how they interpret it. In the next thirty minutes, you spend your time interpreting each painting of the exhibition. One painting especially strikes your attention: “Puberty”. Somehow, you see yourself in the girl sitting on the bed so vulnerable. She only has her own arms to cover her bare skin. Next to her, her inner self is seeming to emerge out of her body screaming in pain. It reminds you of the days when you could have died from loneliness after the death of your grandma. Back then you were only 14. She was always there in your childhood, and you saw her more than your actual parents, who were working almost every day. You loved to eat her pancakes with warm maple syrup ad strawberries. It was your favorite dish. Even now, when you miss Grandma, you follow some recipes out of her personalized cooking book she gifted you for your 13th birthday. Tasting her dishes afterward makes you feel like she is still here by your side and watching you over your shoulder. It’s your comfort.
Looking at the clock on your phone, already 2.51 pm, you will have to get going to your shift at the gift shop of the museum. You must say you really enjoy this job. Working in a museum always surrounded by the arts and artsy people and getting free entry to all the exhibitions has its advantages. Even though you can’t call yourself the greatest painter, you do find peace in writing and interpreting. So, you are quite thankful that Kimi saved the spot for you. Oh, there she is already organizing some of the newly arrived postcards. “Good afternoon!”, “Hey, Kimi!”. Kimi always looks so confident in her appearance, If there was one thing you envied about her, it was her shining long black hair, it made her look beautifully mysterious. Her red lipstick compliments her hair, especially giving of a quite sexy vibe. You were rather known with a girl next door type of vibe, which also reflects in your preference for flower patterns and a laid back lifestyle. However, you still enjoyed getting your fair number of adventurous nights with Kimi by your side. You both match each other’s energy pretty well.
