The sun is shining through the open window and onto the bed, the silence of a new day is broken by the ringing of a phone. The girl yawns and reaches for the phone on her night-stand. “Good morning sleepy head! How are you doing?” The girl answers, her voice filled with sleepiness: “Eli? I’m fine as always. Why are you calling me this early? Is something amiss?” The voice on the other end chuckles a bit, “No, everything is great. I have called, because I just got my hands on something incredible. I have found a special version of Saimi’s Arachnid-boy, with director commentary.” The girl suddenly jolts awake. “What!? Oh my God, really? How did you find it?,” she says gleefully. Eli says, “Wouldn’t you want to know Alice? Oh dear! Oh dear! We shall be too late!” The girl chuckles a bit. “Oh Eli, sometimes I regret telling you the meaning of my name. I’ll see you at school in an hour. Bye.”
“See you Arisu, I’m in the chemistry lab during lunch break. I wouldn’t mind the company.”
Arisu hangs up, she stretches, gets out of bed and readies herself for school. When she finishes, she goes into the kitchen where her mother stands, preparing breakfast. “Good morning honey. I was just about to wake you up.” Arisu smiles and says: “Thanks mom. Could I take some with me? The way I know Eli, he probably didn’t bring any.” Her Mother turns around. “Sure Honey. By the way, is he coming over today? If so, I’ll be making dinner for four.” Arisu smiles at her mother and excitedly says: “Thank you, and I assume he’ll be over. He got a special edition of one of our favourite movies and I would love to watch it together.” She sits down at the table and waits for her mother to finish cooking breakfast. After that, she eats a quick bite and packs up the rest into two lunch boxes. “Goodbye mom, I’ll be off to school now.” She runs out of the house and toward school.”
The sun is shining brightly, and the wind is comfortably blowing around her. The way is a leisurely walk, the traffic lights are working fine and no annoying car drivers who can’t seem to follow simple rules. It doesn’t take long for Arisu to arrive at school.
She walks into the building and goes to her locker, getting everything she needs for class. When lunch break starts, she sprints up to the chemistry lab with the lunch boxes. She almost crashes into another student who stops her. “Whoa Arisu, why are you running through the building? Got a dinner date?,” the student asks with a monotonous voice. “Ah, Chiara. I didn’t see you there. I was just making my way to Eli. You know how he is. He probably forgot to bring lunch again, as always,” Arisu answers. “Yeah, I know that, but why are you always bringing him lunch? Shouldn’t he finally learn to take better care of himself? If I were you, I would probably scold him,” Chiara says, her voice not shifting in tone a bit. “I already know him for a long time, so it doesn’t bother me. I should probably meet up with him. See you Chiara,” Arisu cheerfully exclaims. “See you Arisu, tell him I said hello. Don’t see him too often after all,” Chiara says. “Will do!” she shouts while sprinting through the school building again. It doesn’t take long for her to reach the lab. Once there, she opens the door.
