Shortly after I surprised myself, Mimi also shocked all of us. Getting up, she walked forward to where Aunt Shirley was formally standing. Mimi pressed one of the buttons in the elevator, and I forgot to mention that the buttons were designed in gold. We all thought she was crazy at first because that landed Shirley in her current situation, but then we heard a slight sound emerging from the sound box under the buttons. >>We need help immediately!<< Shirley’s voice interrupted Mimi, who was about to speak. Nevertheless, Mimi continued, but someone gently pushed her. Oh, that was sad. The sound we heard wasn’t actually from our helpers but from Peter, waking up from his short shut-down. It’s hard to say whether the failure of her plan or the unexpected push from Peter was the source of Mimi’s frustration because they suddenly started bickering.
Peter says, >>Oh, I’m so sorry, Mi… I didn’t see you, Madam<< reaching his hands out to Mimi.
>>Wait, why didn’t he say her name?<< I questioned myself, in my head, of course.
Mimi, clearly angry, slaps Peter’s hands away and utters angrily >>Sorry, huh? Are you blind? What kind of officer starts screaming instead of calming down a situation?<<
>>I said I am sorry. Can’t you see I was unconscious?<<
>>Of course! Unconscious<< Mimi tried to mimic him, forming quotation marks with her fingers.
>>You know precisely what you were doing, don’t you? Are you even a police officer because your initial reaction suggests otherwise?<< Mimi questions with a smirk. This sounds almost like a provocation.
I am enjoying this drama! I’d love to know how and why they managed to kill Jack. Yes, I found my two suspects. While James and Shirley are pure evil, Mimi is Jack’s most trusted person, and she’s been employed for the longest time, so she knows everything! Upon reflection, it seems that she began serving as Jack’s secretary in her early twenties and is now approaching her fortieth birthday. Isn’t that something? Their conversation, which suggested a close friendship, gave it all away. Their use of a from-partner-in-crime tone is easy to detect.
My gaze switched to Peter, who would need a little help to get back on his feet. Poor thing! He had struck his head against the sharp metal covering the unbreakable lights with considerable force. As Mimi continuously remarks on his struggles, he finally gives up, looking defeated. I should have laughed, but I couldn’t do it to attract attention to me again. Fortunately, Mimi and Peter weren’t professionals, as I had assumed the killer of my father would be; otherwise, this could have been a long run for me.
