Cliff at the World’s Edge and Summer Haikus

Story

Cliff at the World’s Edge

Ultramarine blue waves,

Crash on the sandy shore.

A white-sailed ship is,

Barely visible in the distance.

The ocean breeze,

Caresses the dark green pines.

Their branches sway slowly,

As if to some secret melody.

The seagulls screech overhead,

A flock of yellow-beaked hunters.

Drawing circles, like smoke rings,

In the clear sky.

A piece of heaven,

Created for me alone.

Oil painted on canvas,

By a stranger’s hands.

Summer Haikus

Scents of moss and ferns.

Pine trees rush by my window.

The car hums slightly.

Sunlight streams gently,

And glistens in deep green pools.

Head filled with daydreams.

I miss the ocean.

Diving through azure blue waves.

Castles built from sand.
