Story

As the sun’s golden rays brushed the sky,
A new day emerged, clear and high,
With a promise unseen, a tale to unfurl,
A special occasion, a secret to swirl.

Today wasn’t about a lady so wise,
But her beloved son, with bright, eager eyes,
It was his birthday, a dream she had to fulfil,
To make it wondrous, with love’s gentle skill.

Ever so quietly she entered her son’s room,
A mother’s tender heart, like a fragrant bloom,
“Wake up, my son,” she softly sang,
A symphony of love, as day’s notes rang.

He stirred from slumber, dreams left behind,
With a smile like sunrise, his face aligned,
The day held a secret, yet to be revealed,
A treasure of moments, with love unconcealed.

With care and laughter, she got him dressed,
To hide his excitement he tried his best,
“School, my dear son,” she said with a grin,
As she combed his hair and cleaned his skin

She readied him for school, gulping her tea,
He looked at his her, eyes dancing with plea,
“Mother, will there be cake?” he inquired,
His voice filled with hope, heart truly inspired

She nodded, with a twinkle in her eye,
“Of course, my dear,” she promised the boy,
“A cake very grand, with candles that gleam,
A birthday surprise that you could never dream.”

Just then, the room door opened wide,
A father figure emerged with a gentle stride
“Ready for school, son?” he cheerfully said,
And proceeded to plant a kiss on his head.

As they stepped out, a family in stride,
The boy jumped in glee, his heart open wide,
The duo set forth, on their day’s bright quest,
Hearts filled with love, in this life’s grand fest.

Through torn buildings, his path did wind,
Debris strewn about, a scene unrefined.
Yet his heart soared high, a joyful flight,
A birthday cake’s promise, his guiding light.

Years have passed, his wish held tight,
Parties postponed, days turned to nights,
But now his mother’s promise rings true,
For her word is gold, his dreams will come due.

In dreams of friends, his mind takes flight,
Gifts they might bring, colors so bright,
Cake’s flavor a mystery, a delightful quest,
Imagining joy, his heart truly blessed.

Filled with excitement, school far away,
“Can I skip please?” the child says today,
Father’s calm wisdom, a patient reply,
“Wait till evening, joy will reach the sky.”

And so, as the sun’s rays painted the town,
A tale of love, hidden yet unbound,
A mother, a child, and a parent so true,
A birthday surprise, long since due.
