Dad,

Ned Taufik

Story

Dad,

I am sorry

But I don’t

But I do

But I’m you

But you’re me

But we’re alike

But we’re not

And I want you

And you want me

But I hate us

And I hate me for you

Because of you

And life was easy on your shoulders

When I was tall

When I was free

When you were strong

When I was simple

But I’m not

And you’re not, not anymore

And times change

And I still need your arms around me

Lifting me up

And with you the sky felt so close, I could feel it

But now it’s too far to even see

I’m lonely without you

I’m no one without you

But you’re fine without me

As you’re human and I’m failure

And I shouldn’t have, I could have

I must have

Anything else but what I have

And you deny me

But I can’t say no to you

As you’re a part of me

Like I am of you

And I’m scared of losing you

So I lose myself
