Development

The thing with development is that we love to see it in technology, in the media et cetera you know, you’re talking to your friends about a tv show you watched recently, saying: “Wow this character had such a great character development”

But when it comes to real life, suddenly people don’t like it when you develop.

“You’ve changed so much. I feel like I’m not talking to the same person anymore.”

Is that such a bad thing?

We, as humans, are so eager to pursue our interests, to become bigger and greater, but when we see another person do that, we become jealous and nasty.

We desire change but at the same time, we are too scared to leave our own comfort zone. We want to be perfect, but at the same time we can all agree that “perfect” doesn’t exist, right?

Right?

It’s okay to be imperfect and we are evolving and growing humans.

We grow with every little experience and you can’t take one experience away because then you will become a different person.

With every little thing I experience, I change.

I develop.

I evolve.

Why don’t you want that for me?

Why should I stay this little girl, too afraid to speak her truth?

I’m not. Never again.

Why would you want me to be?

So you can control me? Own me? Hold me back?

I’m not scared to develop anymore.

You can stay the same.

I will be waiting for you on the other side.
