My book lies silent next to us

Neon lights outside draw patterns

The clock is ticking slower at night

This time it’s different

No failure, no catastrophe at all

This time everything has changed

No need for telling lies

Staying up late until three a.m.

Not willing to fall asleep yet

I’m holding my eyes wide open

They’re filled with tears of joy

I won’t let you see them now

Don’t think the moment is right
