As she slept he whispered as he held her tight

Looking at her crooked smile

Lips he dreamed were his to kiss

Her emerald eyes shone as he saw destiny in them

She never realised the pain of loss

Was his as he felt lost without her smile

Never knowing if in her slumber

She heard a single word

But not caring if he looked a fool

For his butterfly as she was to him

Life at times cocooned her in pain and tears

He will never cease dreaming

Of the lady who smiled the heart of the fool

Others can only see what he allows

Where others look at the weirdo

She reveals the little boy in his soul

Forever giggling at the girl in her heart
