Childhood Love
as children, we used to play
and for the first time, I fell hard
embarrassed you on the playground
by saying “I love you”
in front of the giggling children’s crowd
two decades past
don’t think we’ll ever meet again
but somehow, I hope we do
and there will be sparkles and spring rain
and this time you’ll say
“I love you” too
Beautiful Boy
Beautiful boy
stunning in posture and pose
sun kissed freckles on your nose
Beautiful boy
green eyes sprinkled with coffee
I’m shallow, go ahead and judge me
Beautiful boy
helping cross, stitched on your sleeve
humbled by everything you’ve achieved
Beautiful boy
what an eloquent gracious speaker
a natural born gentle leader
Beautiful boy
drawn to you by your glorious mind
and secretly wish you could be mine
Mysterious Voyager
a quiet little street cafe,
in the nearby park, children play
hot cocoa on round table stands
an old literature classic in her hand
last winter’s sun lights up her face
finds comfort in this sacred place
happy buried in her winter coat
is this seat taken?
a nod, please sit down
“what brings you to this town?”
“just a world travelling foreigner”
“ I see, you are a mysterious voyager”
“if you say so”, his eyes twinkling
“beautiful lady in this cafe
how about your drink’s on me?”
