Entangling overgrowth

Story

Every moment here is agony.

We got used to it in some way.

So it’s been a while since it got like this?

It’s been a process, but yes.

So this is what you endure?

Every day. But our strength lies… lied in our unity, something you have yet to learn.

What do you mean by that?

We worked together to ensure our survival for as long as we could.

You never miss an opportunity to reproach me for my shortcomings, do you?

After all, you asked me for it, so don’t complain. If I have to be the wise villain, then I’ll give it my all. When else do you get the chance to do that?

I’m willing to and I’m going to.

We’ll see.

The light down here is just a gentle hint, but your scales still sparkle beautifully, so I can’t get enough of them.

I once overheard that the ones on your face are the most valuable, if you’re thinking about that. But you probably know that better than I do.

I’ve already told you that I don’t think so.

Watch out!

What is this?

This is new, it’s everywhere and has been overgrowing everything since there was nothing left to include it in the food chain.

By saving me, you became entangled in this mess yourself. What can I do?

Why are you considering helping me?

Maybe I’m more than you think.

What do I think about you?

That I’m nothing…

Oh, that’s not true at all.

More than… a monster.

I guess that’s how you destroy a monster without becoming one.

Come again?
