Female Knights

Have you ever wondered if there have been female knights?

Stories about knighthood and the roundtable always fascinated me. Naturally I thought, where are the female knights? So I looked it up and took a trip into a different time..

Turns out there are stories and proof of them. In 1149 the Order of the Hatchet was founded in Spain to honor the women who fought to save their town. In other places, women were made knights by male knights with a sword and under oath.

They fought for their families, homes, safety, honor, and love.

Nowadays, our world looks very different than it did back then.

Much has changed and improved. However, the barbaric ways of hate, greed, and pride still continue.

We might not need to put on actual armor and go to battle. But the values of knighthood are much needed right now. Loyalty, companionship, teamwork, love, respect, and having each other’s back – are virtues we can call upon in ourselves.

We can be the modern knights of our time, standing up for love, and freedom.

We won’t take up an actual sword (although who knows), but how about an energetic one?

We can protect, support, and fight with our energy, intentions, love, and light.

I know wars are happening right now, so people are in armor on the battlefields. But most of us are not wading through blood, bones, and bodies.

Our weapon, our sword, is light.

Let’s tap into the values of knighthood, which are ultimately ours anyway.

Who knows how many of us have a knight in our bloodline. Even if we don’t, we still carry part of that energy.

We are all connected. We are one.

May we all activate our inner knight.

May we call upon those who walked before us for wisdom, support, and guidance.

May we hold the light in love, peace, and unity.

Close your eyes. Breathe in deeply. Feel your body. Feel the energy around you. Imagine you are in a bubble of golden light or whatever color comes to you. Light above, below, and around you. Keeping you safe and protected. Imagine sending this light to others – your friends, family, pets, and homes. Now let’s go a step further and send that light worldwide. Picture the earth right now as if you are seeing her from above. Put that golden light around her and every being on it. Spread love, unity, and peace all over the earth.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Side note: With this drawing, I want to honor those brave female and male knights. I want to thank them for their courage, strength, and love. Remember we carry the warrior and the peace energy in us. I felt called to draw her as the fierce warrior she is but also wanted to write about the peaceful ways we can use.
