Filling in my tax declaration form on my computer at home
I wonder how they did it at the time when everything was made of stone
In those days people must have lived a life much more simple and sound
Newtons law of gravity, not even invented then, still kept them on the ground
For the common people a simple see-food diet it has been
They did just diet on whatever eatable thing they have seen
Fast food was anything that was too quick to catch
Today it is being served at drive throughs from a hatch
Time, deadlines and schedules had not been invented at that time
Today life is all about numbers, statistics and figures with a positive or negative sign
Science tells us true from false in a very formal way
Other than that is considered paranormal, they say
So, if a bumblebee buzzes around your head, don’t try to control
Science says that the Bumblebee cannot actually fly at all
Fortunetellers might tell you you are a lucky guy
Mathematicians can tell you exactly why
Then the odds to win the EuroMillions shall be one in 140 million
Really lucky is who gets hit by a falling satellite, the odds are one in a 100 billion
And even for our leisure time
Statistics comes in to shine
Because playing golf, for millions of people is the favorite past time under the sun
All holes on golf courses divided by the number of golfers make statistically half a hole for everyone
All those facts and figures we are being confronted with day by day
Can scare us or comfort us either way
That is why the best you can do
Do your own number crunching, then you know the result is meaningful and true
This is what I did myself, crunched some figures and came up with the astounding revelation
112 percent of Mankind cannot compute a simple percentage calculationâŠâŠ
Successfully sorted out this percentage issue there is now only one thing left on my list
This final thing that really bothers me now is: does half a hole really exist?
