Deep Sea Poetry

the sea’s deep beauty calls to me
in whispered waves it sets me free
as the water sweeps over my bare feet
I’m at ease and at peace; my heart is healed

Beneath the waves I find my place
a sense of belonging, where sea and sky merge with grace
the water’s embrace, a love so true
my heart belongs to the ocean’s blue

With salt in my hair and sand between my toes
the water’s beauty is a sight to behold
My love for the sea will forever be:
infinite and bold

Beauty in the mundane and wonder in the ordinary

It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of life. We run from one task to the next, always focused on what’s ahead and what we need to do to get there and in the midst of the hustle and bustle we forget to appreciate the world around us. We love to chase the “extraordinary moments” and “big experiences”, but if we would take the time to slow down and observe, we could discover the incredible beauty that exists even in the smallest of moments. 

Moments, like the vibrant colors of a sunset, the feeling of the sun on our face on a warm spring day, the taste of a home-cooked meal shared with loved ones, getting lost in a captivating book over a hot chocolate, the feeling of an endearing hug from friends or family, to the peaceful glow of the moon at night and the sound of waves crashing against the shore at the beach – all these wonders are waiting to be noticed.

When we take a deep breath in, slow down and immerse ourselves in the present, we can find peace and fulfillment in the moment. Look around you and notice the beauty in the world and let it remind you of all the goodness that exists. Because the truth is, some of the most profound and meaningful moments in life are the ones that seem so simple and ordinary.
