Journal entry 12.
Identity is a complex tapestry woven from threads of experiences, beliefs, and aspirations. Today, as I sit with pen in hand, I find myself contemplating the intricacies of who I am and who I strive to be.In the mirror, I see the reflection of a young woman searching for her place in the world — a kaleidoscope of emotions, dreams, and fears. At times, it feels as though I’m navigating a labyrinth, each twist and turn revealing new facets of myself. But identity is more than just the sum of our parts; it’s the essence of our being, the core of our existence. It’s the laughter that bubbles up from deep within, the tears that flow freely in moments of vulnerability. For me, identity is a journey—a journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-love. It’s about embracing all that makes me unique, celebrating the quirks and imperfections that make me who I am. And yet, identity is also fluid, ever-changing like the tides of the ocean. It’s about allowing myself the freedom to evolve, to grow, to redefine myself in each passing moment. Identity is not something to be confined or defined by others—it’s something to be embraced, nurtured, and celebrated. And so, I will continue on this journey with an open heart and a curious mind, embracing the beautiful messiness of who I am.
Becoming
Like a river, I flow, winding and free,
Carving my path through the tapestry.
With each twist and turn, I am reborn,
In the ebb and flow, my essence adorned.
I’m the phoenix, rising from the flame,
Embracing the scars, never the same.
In the ashes of who I used to be,
I find the strength to set myself free.
With wings of courage, I take flight,
Exploring the depths of day and night.
So let the winds of change carry me,
Through valleys of doubt, to the open sea.
