It is the most basic of all the jungle rules
Stripes meet stripes, dots meet dots, and they live in pools
And a saying says that birds of a feather
Tend to flock together
Man has neither stripes nor dots, no fur nor feather
And still, we believe we all live life together
But, embedded in the crowd, many live in their own singularity
We do not live together, it rather seems we all live life just simultaneously
We all share one planet that we say is ours
And it’s been given to us by some higher powers
So, claiming to act as solicitors in the name of some higher powers
We share this world as we think it is really ours
But sharing in a world we think we ourselves are the grand divine
Means dividing it into what is yours and what is mine
Some call this sharing altogether fantasy
Smarty-pants meanwhile builds the ‘share economy’
Some say ‘much more happiness comes from giving than from receiving’
Well-mannered they let the others go first and say ‘You start giving’
The accountant tells us the column ‘pay’ is for you and the column ‘earn’ is for me
‘This is the way the world is meant to be’
The present offers unimaginable riches for some
While most of the others feel their time is glum
Wise guys get rich very fast
While nice guys always finish last
This takes us to the most paramount jungle rule
Be a wise guy. Being a nice guy makes you a fool
