Just expressing your love

Story

Best Friend

You’re my best friend,

Have been for a long time,

Now I’m sitting in this lighten up room of mine,

Waiting for you to appear again.

How long has it been,

Since we’ve been okay?

Trying to keep the darkness at bay,

We seek comfort in each others embrace,

Through our phone displays.

Every single day it’s:

“How are you?”

“Are you okay?”

Switching to:

“Can I do something for you?”

The questions pile up each day,

And I couldn’t imagine having a better friend,

For a better Day to be at my side.

Something

It’s the same with me every single Day,

I can’t help but drown,

Only for you to pull me back out.

In the end I feel the situation of my helplessness,

As I want to return all the affection you give,

Right back at you.

You may say I do a lot,

But I know it’s not enough,

I want to do more, for the deserving person you are,

The person you’re known to be,

The shining star.

So continue to be

The ever so shining star,

In my life,

My best friend.
