Letters of a long forgotten past: chapter 6

Dear Robert,

I have officially been employed by the daycare facility, I am so happy. They feel I interact with the children very affectionately and carefully, they also said that I am a great fit for their daycare and that they would be happy to employ me in the future. I sincerely hope that you are proud of me. But now to you. How have you been? Who’s that Hans? Please tell me they’ve been treating you well. The war has reached our small village. I’m worried about you being out there. In your next letter please assure me that you are safe and sound.

I trust you to stay alive with me.

Dear Edward,

I’m sorry that you already have to live in fear of the war when I’m not even at the front lines yet. Speaking of that, we will be leaving for our end-camp in just a few hours. Last chance for a letter to be sent. I’ve attached the new address to this letter. In regard to your final employment I am so happy for you. Of course I am proud of you for getting officially employed at the daycare. Hans is my roommate, he’s nice to me. I would wish for him to accept me and my sexuality, but I won’t push it. I’m safe here but we’ll also have changed location by tomorrow. I promise you I’ll stay safe and I will also make sure not to forget my original mission. I hope you won’t forget why we are doing this either.

Dear Robert,

I appreciate that you try to make me feel better and I thank you for that. The money I get from working at the daycare isn’t too much, but it helps with everyday mundane things. I’m glad that you’re making friends at your camp, I’m sure it’ll be important later on. Thank you for providing a future address once again. I don’t need to fear the war that much yet, it’s just that we have to be aware of it now. I’m not too scared, it’s a war but it’ll most likely be over soon. I will also make sure not to forget our original mission. The kids do really seem to like me and they do get influenced quite easily.

I’ll be safe as long as you are.
