“Welcome, brightest Ray of the Sun!”, one of the paladins greeted her with a soft, friendly voice. He had an accent she could not quite define. “Your visit to our temple is the greatest honour for us Warriors of the Sun. We wish you an enjoyable and enlightening stay!”

“Thank you, holy Warrior! It is indeed a great honour to be here and see the temple and its guardians in all their beauty for the very first time”, the Queen flirted.

“Oh, you are too kind to us humble servants!”, he chuckled but his breast was swelling with pride. “Enter now into the realm of Lumina, our sacred Sunmother!”

“Nothing I would rather do”, she smiled light-heartedly. As soon as she had crossed the doorstep, she was blown away by the high-frequency energy coursing through the temple. So bright! So beautiful! So brilliant!

Hardly, if at all, did she notice what happened when her bodyguards attempted to follow her. The sharp metallic sound of a sword being unsheathed was swallowed by an energetic protection field that surrounded the temple, closing her off from the world outside of this room.

“Only the faithful may enter!”, the paladin that had not said anything before, warned the bodyguards. “You must wait outside until the Queen returns.”

“You do not command us, zealot!”, a female guard snapped back. “Now step aside! You shall not block the way of the Queensguard!”

“Should we show them our tricks, brother?”, the paladin with the friendlier voice asked, bragging with his muscles and whirling his sword in the air.

“Go ahead!”, the male bodyguard replied feisty. “I could definitely use a little warm-up. Shifts have been rather boring lately…”

“Let me stop you right there, save us all precious time, you childish, armed lot!”, Matron March, who had been waiting in the back, shouted. “No blood will be spilled in front of these holy halls! Don’t you remember your code of honour? Sun Warriors and Queensguard should cooperate, NOT measure their talents!” She crossed her arms and looked at them like a very displeased mother.

“The Queen commands me, not you, grumpy old nun!”, the female guard went back at her.

Matron March grumbled: “No. Not right now. The Queen is busy exploring the temple. We shall not bother her with this kindergarten bullshit!”
