Forest song
The birds were singing.
The lake it strummed,
The trees were listening,
And the animals hummed.
Â
To be purely present
Is to hear the forest song.
To be cautiously curiousÂ
Is to know the forest song.
Â
While nature is hummingÂ
its secret song.
Some poor fools are failingÂ
to sing along.
Â
Only those who are present
may hear it once.
And shiver in the presence
Of the forest song.
July
We fell in love
In the month of July,
We were just kids,
And the days passed us by.
Living in a small town.
Eating ice cream and pie.
I see them so rosy,
As they long passed by.
We have withered
And our bond did break.
No cake for us,
All we did was age.
Now, when July arrives,
I cry and remember
days long gone by.
