Story

“Please stay.” Amalias eyes got so huge, they probably would pop out of her skull any time soon, Rosalie thought.

It was a tough day at work. As she brought her best friend home, they found her flatmate drunk on the couch.

She looked at her with an amused smile and shook her head. “He’s your problem now.”

“You can’t let me alone with this stupid, dickhead”, Amalia said, while she pointed at Johnny who apparently tried to eat the armrest of the sofa for the last three minutes. Her chocolate eyes still pinned on Rosalie. “If you go, he’ll possibly try to eat me too”, she complained playfully indignant.

Amalia was her best friend since she came to her secondary school in Manchester. They befriended each other in French class when Amalia stormed into the classroom covered in tears. Rosalie sat down next to her and shared her French book with her. From that day, they talked every day and found out that they’re very much alike. Funnily enough they both worked in the film industry now. Amalia was a great thriving first assistant director, while Rosalie earned her money as a script supervisor.

Rosalies mouth twitched slightly up. “I’ll text you when I’m at Nicks and check if you’re still alive. Okay”, she asked still amused. Then she pressed a short comforting kiss on her best friends forehead. She waited for her huffily nod before she closed the door of the flat behind her back.

While walking down the stairs she pulled out her phone and checked her messages. The screen lit up and covered her face in a soft light which made her look even paler as she was.

There was one message of her mother and seven of Nick – her boyfriend. First she replied to her mothers text: ‘Rosa, did you already feed Amadeus?’

‘If he says no, then I can tell you, he is lying! Don’t trust him, Mum!’

Amadeus was her mothers fluffy Norwegian forest cat, who does nothing else than break everything what isn’t securely screwed on. Additionally, on everything he is stupidly cute with his huge round eyes and the cute pointy ears he has.

With a loud BLING the sound of another message from Nick boomed through the stairwell. Opening the chat was probably a bad idea. Her insides seemed to be spinning. Messages were blowing up into her face: ”I love you <3′, Honey, where are you?’, ‘Should I pick you up?’, ‘Honeeeey?’, ‘You’re still coming home tonight, are you?’, ‘Alright, don’t bother answering :(‘, ‘Hon’…’, ‘Do you still love me?’

Sighing Rosalie slid down the wall onto a step. She considered going back to Rosalie, but decided to make her way back home. Back to where Nick was waiting for her.
