Moritz – Alien 86

On Wakusai, each alien who turns 17 can participate in a special program called “jobPossession24”. This program is especially for aliens who don’t know what they want to do with their lives. In this program, aliens possess another alien for 24 hours, giving them a glimpse of their work and life. The idea is to provide young aliens with a first idea of how their careers could go. This way, they can try out many jobs without needing to learn them upfront. Today is the first day of Moritz’s JobPossession24 program. How long the program lasts is different for every alien. Some find their dream job on their first try, while others need 2 or 3 days. Spoiler alert: Moritz will need a lot more time. In his first 24 hours, he possesses a stage-builder alien who works for one of the biggest theatres. After that, he works at the infamous Hamburger fish market and becomes a mailman, a pizza deliverer, a singer, an extra, a cleaner, a warehouseman, a harbour worker, a call centre agent and a shoe salesman. These are many jobs he has tried out so far, more than anyone else. So, after the possession of the shoe salesman, he changed back to himself and got a letter from the head of the program asking him to come by to discuss how they should proceed. He is concerned because Moritz has been in this program for such a long time. Moritz grabs his bag and locks the door. Around 30 minutes later, he arrives at the office of Nick Milford – the head of the JobPossession24 program. Nick greets Moritz and starts talking: “Listen, Moritz, I think we have a small problem here. You have possessed 11 people in total, and to be honest, that is quite a few. You are the one with the most possessions in the history of JobPossession24. I can only grant you one last possession until I register you unemployable. So it would be best to consider which job you want to try next. To help you decide, we have a special program in the world wide virtual world which analyses your skills and suggests jobs. Do you want to try it out?” Moritz smiles and answers: “No, I already know what I want to try out next – I want to possess Dean. He is a friend who studies graphic design.” “Is that all a joke to you, Moritz? I am seriously concerned. We need to find the job you want to do later on and not joke around, ” Nick says. “No, I am serious. I feel I will find my passion when I possess Dean. Please believe me.” “Ok, we will give it a try, but if I see you messing with his life, I will put a stop to it immediately”, Nick answers. And so should it be. The next day he possesses his friend Dean. In the first period, he has art history. Today’s topic is contemporary art, even though this is not history – yet. And Moritz? He loves it. All these amazing artists and their works are so inspiring to him. “This is so great”, Moritz says to Paul, who sits beside him. “Yeah, they are, but this is nothing compared to graffiti.”, Paul answers. “Do you spray graffiti?” Moritz asks. “Yes, I do. It would be best if you came with us tonight. And so Moritz did. It was this evening that aroused his passion for street art. As soon as he held the first spray can, he knew he wanted to become a street artist.
