and when I raise the bar
it’s not to see you fall
it’s because I believe you can grow wings
to fly

and when I push you
it’s not to watch you drown
it’s because I believe you got strong arms
to dive deeper

and when I walk on
it’s not to leave you behind
it’s because I believe you can go further and beyond
to cross the finish line

and when I stop the rain
it’s not to end your growing
it’s because I believe your roots are deep enough
to bloom on your own


and when I turn the pages
it’s not to forget the last chapter
it’s because I believe that the stories that are meant to be told
are unstoppably written in the stars

and when I start the clock
it’s not to erase the past
it’s because I believe in trusting
the rhythm of divine timing.
