Poetry: Ready? Set Boundaries! Go.

Today I choose myself (and if that may sound harsh to ya, well, I don’t give a damn)

Cause today is not about forgetting who you were – but to remember who I am

My life is a queendom of positivity and love and too damn fine and good

To let somebody in to mess with my emotions and fuck with my good mood

Come closer if you really want to, but be aware before you dare to knock at my door

That this is my sacred safe space and I might not grant access cause I too often let the wrong ones in before

Unconditional lovin, all givin no takin? If I offer you the key to my heart, that’s fine

But I for sure will take good care of my precious peace, time and energy as they are not yours but rightfully mine

So respect my beautiful body, magic spirit, golden lines mended heart and most of all, my eternal soul

Listen and understand my past, my wounds, visions, dreams and art, everything that makes me feel and be whole

It took me a lifetime to learn how to speak my mind, my truth, how to build invisible barriers and say “no”

So if you’re lookin for an easy “yes”, well, you’re at the wrong place and it’s time to pack your bags, back off and go.
