The impact that phones have on our relationships

I wake up in the morning,

look at my phone,

and see all these messages from an illusory world.

Texting, chatting, flirting – we all learn

from the digital world

by disconnecting from the real world.

I go to a cafe,

and notice all the people accompanied by their phones,

ignoring the real world.

We tend to stay together,

but that does not matter

when our phones are getting better

at keeping a conversation going better.

Butterfly

I am uncertain,

but you tell me I’m incredible.

I am a wreck,

yet you call me a miracle.

I am a failure,

but you describe me as fantastic.

We’re like a butterfly that doesn’t notice it precious wings.

So are we.

It all depends on our point of view.
