Society’s Standards

Stereotypes.

Stereotypes exist. They exist everywhere. When a certain country’s citizen acts like another, people come up with negative sayings, and stereotypes build up.

Difference.

The moment a person sees another who they’re not used to seeing, another who’s different from them – it’s almost like instinct to judge them first.

History.

History brings up several negative aspects: grudges of the past, wars, stereotypes, and torment towards those who are different.

Despite how people beg themselves, and those close to them to give others a chance, it’s almost impossible. These aspects are already ingrained in their minds, far deep inside even when they doubt it still exists within them.

After all, you are part of a society – whether big or small-, and society has its own standards. Society’s standard isn’t something you, or anyone, can change so easily.

When someone recalls a topic of ‘society’, what would you think of?

People? The environment? Yourself?

Like how the word ‘society’ isn’t limited to the likes of people, so are standards. Standards can vary, from people, to animals, to food, to ethnicity, to status – and to several more.

So just imagine how big of a field the two words: Society’s Standards, can create.

Society’s Standards.

Society’s Standards are simply obvious – standards. They’re not written, or a law, but most people have the urge to follow it, because it’s assumed to be what they are expected to do. In simpler terms, these sets of unsaid words are made by people who have a need to be in control of something. The standards they made build up pressure among those in society, and they possibly even bring themselves into something they created, and get pressured by it too.

You can be a victim, or you can be someone who makes a victim.

But do remember. If you become someone who makes a victim, you most likely will be forced to do something within the standards you set yourself, but back then, you wouldn’t think you would be doing it.
