“Ahh, so that’s how you do it.” Once again, Jami was spending her free time in the attic with Kizu. At the moment, Jami was reading about some rituals, when she failed to realize her sister coming up the attic. Jenny climbed up, wanting to call out for Jami but stopped as she saw how absorbed in the book she was. Instead, Jenny slowly sneaked up on her little sister. She stretched out her arms and tightly pulled her sister into her chest in a surprise hug. “Caught you!” She exclaimed excitedly, breaking the tranquil silence in the attic. “Aa!? Jen!” Her realisation was interrupted by her sisters relentless tickles. Overwhelmed, the little girl couldn’t contain her laughter. No matter how much Jami squirmed around in her sister’s arms, her attempts at escape were futile. “I- hahah. I yield, I yie- hah!” Jami attempted to say between waves of laughing and escaping. Jenny, appeased by her sister’s surrender, finally relented, giving her one last hug, squishing their cheeks together. Jenny seated Jami comfortably on her lap. “There’s something, I’ve got to tell you Jay. I haven’t been honest with you.” Jami let out an overdramatic gasp. “My dearest older sister is keeping a secret from me!?” Without giving Jenny a chance to talk, she interrupted her. “It’s about Arthur, no?” Her smirk growing wider, turning into a big smile. “Ok. First of all, where did you learn such words? And second, is it that obvious?”, she covered her face, trying to hide her embarrassment. “Hehe. You like him, don’t you?” It was clear as day how her big sister felt about Arthur, out of courtesy did she wait, for Jenny to tell her once she was ready. First Jenny was suspicious about Arthur when they met. It wasn’t new for her to be introduced to men her mother picked out. So when she first met Arthur, she was surprised. “And then, he looked at me, like I was the crazy one.” Jami eagerly listened. “He didn’t even ask me to date him!” Both began to laugh, enjoying their little talk. “You see Jay. Unlike the other men we scared away, Arthur never-.” Jenny went silent. Jami could guess what her sister was thinking about, so she hugged her. There was something else Jenny meant to say but was interrupted by Arthur, who had come to bring Jenny back downstairs. Jami waved them both off, returning to read her book. If it weren’t for Kizu, Jami would have ended up sleeping in the attic. She quickly made her way downstairs however she was stopped halfway through by the weird man, whose name she couldn’t be bothered to remember. He was looking down, at her asking why she has been up this late. Jami did not answer, instead returning his question to him. He was with Jenny until now. “However, I would’ve preferred to spend more time with you little one.“ „Why would I want to spend time with someone who destroys my sister’s happiness? I would prefer you leave and never come back.” At that he chuckled: “Your mother really wasn’t kidding when she said that you have a sharp tongue.” Jami’s hostility towards him only seemed to make him more intrigued by her. She stuck her tongue out at him and ran to her room. Jami was way too quick for him to react and hold her down. But that didn’t stop him from trying to get closer to her. From that night on, he would mostly follow her around any chance he got, trying to initiate various conversations. One of his most asked question was why she knew so much considering her age. He also quizzed her thoughts on the supernatural, especially angels. Jami always managed to slip away until recently. Her mother forced her to participate in the family gathering. Jami had, never invited been before.
