To you, who keeps me awake after my sleep
I owe you a huge debt
As you’re the sun and you’re the moon
As you’re always there to watch me carefully
And you’re the sky and the clouds
As you’re there to protect me
And I’m your forever
And if there’s anything longer than forever
I would love to be that instead
And if I lose my fire
You’ll burn me even brighter
And if I’m in the darkness
You’ll shine a light on me
And if I’m not yours in this world
I would love to be yours in eternity
As happily ever after is practically now with you
I have never been sad at anything more
Than the thought of losing you
As it is sadder than the thought of losing myself
As I have lost myself in you
And it is not to make life feel heavy
To say that you’re my life
It’s quite the opposite
As you give me life when I’m dying
And as you’re so good to me
For nurturing a dying plant
For feeding a hungry bear
For lighting up our little camp
I perceive you as an angel
In the form of a beautiful human
And I am forever grateful to have you
As I will kiss our grandchildren goodnight
And tell them the story of how great you are
And they will run in life
Knowing that they have an angel in the family
An angel like you
An angel so beautiful inside and out
That I’m so glad to call “Teresa”
