the autumn knocks

Story

knock knock

look, it’s the fall knocking at the seasons door

it’s the first sign that the summer is no more

the realisation leaves me in a slight shock

how can the warm months already be over?

no more sunscreen, sandy toes and salty hair

the temperature already started to get lower

I only now realise that i really care

about hot summer days and drives to the beach

the sun leaving your hair lighter than usual, almost like a natural bleach

the fall promises early nights and pumpkin spice

just because summer said goodbye

it doesn’t mean there’s no grace for the orange sky

leaves turning red and set the world in a burning flame

that’s a regular sign for the upcoming paradise

cinnamon cookies and a hot chai tea

sets my calming inner peace free

summer memories just became pictures in a golden frame

casually hanging on the newly decorated wall

welcoming the upcoming fall
