So who is responsible for this chapel, who organises the devotions, who looks after and maintains it? It is the chapel community.
Who is part of the community?
As not being an association, there do not exist statutes with a chairman, treasurer and secretary, nor is there a list of members. Anyone who cares about the chapel can be a member. Whether participants in church services, helpers with the renovations or just supporters – everyone is invited to get involved. For example, there are occasional calls to discuss and organise matters relating to the chapel at a joint meeting.
For many years, it was Mayor Johann Zach (Pertlstein 29) who – supported by volunteers and generous donors – worked hard to ensure that the chapel remained a treasure of our village.
In 1999, Johann Kniely (Pertlstein 31), whose great-grandfather co-founded the chapel more than 120 years ago, took over this task.
A special contribution was made by Hilde Unger (Pertlstein 38), who worked as a volunteer bell ringer for no less than 60 years (1956 – 2016), maintaining the chapel and decorating it for festive occasions.
Since 2016, Margret Bauer and Hermine Jansel have been kindly taking care of the chapel.
