the ring – part 1

As a child, my grandmother gave me a ring and told me that I should never take it off. It was a silver ring and had a symbol on top of it that to this day I don’t really know what it represents.

One very strange thing that I only noticed years later, is that this ring always fit me. As I grew older, the ring kept up with me.

As I loved my grandmother very much, I obeyed her and never took the ring off.

 After a few years my grandmother came to talk to me, she said I was ready to know the truth.

She told me that hundreds of years ago there was a witch named Elen. She was so powerful that she discovered how to become a goddess and acquired powers never seen before. She was able to control the forces of nature, and this, which belonged to my family.

Since she was very powerful, she knew how to control and handle her powers perfectly.

All the members of my family who were born after that have the same power as her. We are demigods. However, unlike her, none of us are able to control magic that well, so a series of catastrophes have befallen our family members who try to use their powers.

This is why I needed to wear the ring, it nullified most of my powers, to make sure that nothing would happen to me.

My grandmother spent years researching magic to develop this ring. She saw many of her children and siblings die because of the powers, including my mother.
