Story

“I think he will Belmont,” said Aldwin, offering reassurance to Belmont’s uncertainties. “He has already assembled his soldiers in front of the British Castle of Magistry, spreading propaganda to any passenger who dares to cross their path and, the worst of all, Belmont.” Aldwin took a deep breath, filling his lungs to the brim, causing his chest to grow twofold. “Some people support their propaganda. They cry out their mottos at the top of their lungs and even assault civilians without any concern of retribution. It is sad, mate.” Belmont nodded, his face reflecting disappointment. He raised the amulet from his neck and let it rest on his palm, revealing an emblem. The emblem depicted a shield coloured with a red background, symbolising the family’s military prowess. In the centre, an exquisitely crafted letter G rested, representing the family name Greyclokke. Two silver swords intersected diagonally. Silver stood for purity. The swords for chivalry. Atop of the shield stood a magnificent golden crown proud, allowing its radiating golden hue throughout the room. At the crown’s pinnacle, a circular arrangement of three stones was carved with excellent precision. One was positioned at the top, and the other stones were diagonally aligned. The stones boasted colours of orange, purple and blue. The three oldest and most formidable types of magic. They embodied the magic of the Elements, Arcane magic and the most powerful of all. The magic of the Runes. The remaining portion of the shield was adorned with silver flourishes, symbolising the family’s nobility and elegance. A parchment bearing a Latin motto was affixed near the shield’s base. The family’s motto: Potentia et Puritas, meaning power and purity. Aldwin noticed the flicker of emotion in Belmont’s eyes as if a tear was ready to release, but his friend held it back. That tear swiftly vanished, replaced by a feeling Aldwin knew all too well. Anger.

Aldwin was aware of the Greyclokkes’ obsession with blood status. They were renowned as a complete Pureborn family. A rare and esteemed achievement. It was rumoured that if a family lineage consisted only of Pureborn members, each subsequent generation would grow more potent than their predecessors, possessing power beyond any comprehension. Hence, the word “Power” held significant essence in their motto.
